staffing & rooms

All our nursery environments have been purposely set up to support the age ranges of children within them. Our proactive early years professionals have a fantastic knowledge of child development and use the EYFS principles of learning to help set up ‘enabling environments’ where all children can flourish. We are continually reviewing our environment and adapting as we see fit.

We work closely with parents when it is time for children to transition through our nursery rooms. Although we have rough ages in mind for children to transition, every child’s individual needs are considered before any firm plans are in place. We see transitions as a process and not an event.

The adult to child ratios are as follows in line with the statutory early years requirements;

0 – 2 years – 1:3
2 – 3 years – 1:4
3 – 5 years – 1:8

PARENT INFORMATION

At Woodhams Farm Day Nursery we welcome all parents as partners and support a two-way sharing of information that helps establish trust and understanding. We know that successful parent partnerships have the most positive influence on children’s social emotional well-being and overall development.

We are committed to supporting parents in an open and sensitive manner and include you as an integral part of the care and early learning team within the nursery. Working together ensures we can meet the individual needs of your family and provide the highest quality of care and education.

famly

We have many ways of ensuring the best communication. We use an early years platform called Famly. This is a useful communication tool that encourages two-way communication, it enables us to provide you with visuals and informative observations of your child’s time at nursery. This comes straight to your mobile or any device. For a quick introduction to the Famly application, watch this handy video.
